Angus Vance

Managing Director

Company founder, Angus Vance, is an emerging filmmaker best known for debut short film, Boomerang (2016) and award-winning sophomore short The Last River (2018) for which he recieved the LBS 'Best Emerging Filmmaker' gong. He established Dirt Stories as a body for storytelling, and a vehicle for maintaining creative control over projects. His creative expression and fascination with relationships between people & place, is informed by his Indigenous heritage; and shaped by growing up beneath the southern skies of Western Victoria. As a both a Writer/Director and Cinematographer, he works at the nexus of concept and craft. Angus holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, where he is currently a candidate for a Doctor of Jurisprudence.
